Place of work

The Tidioute Community Charter School, located in Victorian Tidioute, Pennsylvania, is a rural K4-12 School."Tidioute" is an Iroquois word for "Protrusion of Land," which refers to the sharp bend of the Allegheny River flowing beside the small town. The first multi-room school in town was built in 1877 and was called "Tidioute Union School." This existed until 1904 when the Tidioute Borough built Tidioute School on land donated by the Hunter family. This school remains today as TCCS. TCCS prides itself on its heritage, small class sizes with more individualized attention, Kindergarten for 4 and 5-year-olds, and a state of the art technology program. The students are immersed in a rigorous curriculum that promotes project-based learning with a focus on the environment and community.
